Arizona Hawks (junior hockey)

The Arizona Hawks are an Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned Tier II junior ice hockey team based out of Peoria, Arizona. Their host facility is AZ Ice Peoria, which is located next to the Peoria Sports Complex that is the spring training home of the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball.〔http://juniorhockeymagazine.com/article/Arizona+Redhawks/187954/0/article.html〕 The team is a member of the Western States Hockey League in the Western Division for the current season. Head coach Tim Sanche played five seasons as a pro after playing junior hockey in the Western Hockey League for two seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The players, ages 16–20, carry amateur status under Junior A guidelines and hope to earn a spot on higher levels of junior ice hockey in the United States and Canada, Canadian Major Junior, Collegiate, and eventually professional teams.
